The American Brain Tumor Association. My mother passed away in Nov 2006 from an inoperable, rapidly growing brain tumor. The treatment options for those affected with brain tumors haven't changed much in the past 20 years...they need funding for research on better, more effective treatments. www.abta.org
oops...guess that would help huh? I'm Threads of Gray....www.threadsofgray.etsy.com...I actually donate most of my profits to the ABTA as well...I started my shop by making tote bags with awareness ribbons on them, because I could never find anything with a gray ribbon for Brain Cancer, and there weren't any fund raisers in my area...I was/am not anywhere near ready to organize one on my own...so when I taught myself to sew using my Mom's machine that I inherited...it all just sortof fell into place!
I WAS GOING TO ASK FOR BOWEL CANCER UK PLEASE AS ONE OF MY VERY GOOD FRIENDS DIED AT THE AGE OF 45 A FEW MONTHS AGO. HE WAS A VERY TALENTED ARTIST AND ALONG WITH MYSELF AND 7 OTHERS WAS ON THE WAY TO WORKING FOR AN ART DEGREE.
BUT MAYBE IT HAS TO BE A WORLD WIDE CHARITY IF SO IM SURE THERE ARE SOME FOR BOWEL CANCER. ITS JUST THAT IT RAISES AWARENESS AS WELL AS FUNDS WHICH CAN HELP SAVE SO MANY PEOPLE LIVES.
Save Darfur Coalition. They are having events around the country all through April to raise awareness of the genocide in Darfur. Their big event is this Sunday in Washington, DC. They are a great organization trying to fight the big fight.
