Hey everyone-
I would like to propose Heifer International.

Their approach is fabulous - the way they help people become self-sufficient and teach them how to provide excellent care for the animals that are helping them. The whole spirit of the organization is wonderful, with the "Passing on the Gift" aspect and everything. There's more information here: http://www.heifer.org/

Thanks! I've never proposed a charity before so I don't know if you're supposed to say a little about what they do or not, but hope I did it right. =)

Hello!

I would like to propose Sweet Words donations to The Ronald McDonald House of Winnipeg

ABOUT:
"Ronald McDonald House Winnipeg is a home away from home for out-of-town families whose children are undergoing treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses at the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada." This is an amazing organization, providing a "home-away-from-home where parents can relax, prepare a hot meal and share their concerns with other parents in similar situations.

MY DONATION:
My cousin-in-law was recently diagnosed with Melanoma, and he is now terminal. We dont know how much longer he has, it could me weeks, or up until Christmas. Both my Grandparents passed from Leukemia & Lung Cancer. My husbands Grandfather passed of Cancer also. Unfortunately the list is endless.

What I have started is a wonderful and exciting donation for the children at The Ronald McDonald House. This is not a money donation, as I have done in the past, but a gift in kind donation. They are called Sweet Head Wraps, and for every 2 I sell, I will donate 1. I have many different fun kids fabrics and look forward to my first donation. Sweet Head Wraps will be posted through out this week!

Thank you very much for the chance to send out this proposed Charity.

I would like to recommend Forgotten Angels Cat Sanctuary. http://www.forgottenangelsinc.org/

I recently hosted a 'yarn drive'...looking for yarn donations to present to Forgotten Angels, as they have yarn on their 'wish list' because they knit their own blankets for the cats and kittens. I also plan on donating food, litter and treats when I can afford it...
but I would love to see this organization receive some help from Esty For Charity.

I know I'm a newbie here, but I thought I'd at least throw this charity into the ring for consideration.
Thanks!
Here's a little blurb from their home page:

This shelter is run strictly by volunteers, unlike some shelters that have paid staff. This
means that 100% of donations are being used to care for the animals.
We are proud to have one of the finest and cleanest shelters in Connecticut. We provide the best possible care for all our
animals with the fine veterinary support of Four Paws Veterinary Services and Groton-Ledyard Veterinary Hospital.
These two veterinary services provide medical care for all our animals and attend to our animals as they would their own.
Prior to entering the main shelter area, all animals receive a complete physical and are combo tested for FIV and Feline
Leukemia. No cat or kitten is received into this facility that tests positive for either of these diseases. All of our animals are
kept current on vaccinations.

Hi, everybody!

I'd like to propose HAWC, or Help for Abused Women and Children. They are the charity my shop donates to, as well. They provide shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and a host of other programs for victims of domestic violence and their children. Website: http://helpabusedwomen.org/

Thank you for your consideration!

Once again, I am going to suggest the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for my son, Cael.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common, fatal inherited disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. CF attacks primarily the lungs and the digestive system. In the lungs, the effects of the disease are most devastating; and with time, respiratory problems become increasingly severe. In the digestive tract, CF blocks the absorption of adequate vitamins and nutrients from food.

Please help us find a cure for him and many others! My son is now 11 months old and was diagnosed at 1 month through newborn screening. Newborn screening for cystic fibrosis wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for the foundation and all the donations they receive. I'm thankful that we found out so early and our son has had a better start in life than most children who have CF, that found out much later because they weren't screened as newborns.

This foundation is very dear to my heart and I hope I have touched some of you so that you will consider this foundation for our next charity of the month. Please go to shop4acure.etsy.com and read more about my son's daily struggle with CF. Also visit www.cff.org or www.cysticfibrosis.com to learn more about cystic fibrosis.

I would also like to nominate the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; I think it is important support our own.

I would like to suggest "Kids Against Hunger". You can view their website at www.feedingchildren.org (it is currently getting a makeover--sorry if any pages do not work). This organization feeds starving children around the globe. Locally there is a field office in my community, their website is, www.kidsagainsthungermankato.com ,where we can volunteer to make up food packets of dried grains and nutritional suppliments. The orgainzation takes care of getting it shipped to the areas in greatest need. Last year our local office fed more than a million starving children! Thanks for considering this charity! :)
